The Election

Ken Waight @ 12:43 am

I’ve been a pollworker for more than 10 years, and presidential elections are usually crazy. But because of the huge popularity of early voting in North Carolina, our day was almost relaxed. More than 900 people in our precinct voted early, leaving less than 600 to vote on Election Day.

The election of Barack Obama is likely to have a major impact on this blog. After six full years (2002-2007) of evaluating the partisan behavior of pundits under a Republican White House, the patterns had become fairly predictable. So I’m really looking forward to see how the rankings will change under a Democratic government, expecting that there will lots of new things to talk about. From now until the end of the year, I’ll concentrate on being ready to begin evaluating columns on January 1.
